The Board of Directors of the Montfort Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sofia Guay as President and CEO. She will officially take office on October 5, 2026.

Nine exceptional Ontarians, from Ottawa, Rockland, St. Albert and Toronto, were elected to the Board of Directors and the Association de l’Hôpital Montfort, Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital, at last night’s Annual Meeting.

Hôpital Montfort has been accredited with exemplary standing, the highest distinction awarded by Accreditation Canada, a national organization.

The Francophone community in Ottawa’s west end will now be able to receive primary care in their own language at the Maison de la francophonie d’Ottawa, thanks to the new Montfort Ottawa West Community Family Health Team.

The Association consists of up to 100 volunteer members, acting as Montfort's ambassadors, and eligible to become members of the Hospital's Board of Directors. The deadline for applying is February 27, 2026.

Montfort’s Family Birthing Centre welcomed the first baby of 2026 for the Ottawa region, 23 minutes after midnight on January 1st. Parents Dixabahen and Mehulkumar Patel welcomed their first child, a baby boy weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

Montfort, Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital, the Institut du Savoir Montfort and the Université de l’Ontario français (UOF) signed a partnership agreement today to offer certificates, training internships, staff and student exchanges, as well as research, innovation and creation projects in various fields of common interest.
