The academic hospital made the list of the World's Best Hospitals, as established by the prestigious American Newsweek magazine. Montfort currently ranks 44th out of the 100 best Canadian hospitals, up 20 places since it entered the list.


Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

Montfort has joined Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals, a list published yearly by Research InfoSource Inc, a leading information source on research and development in Canada. In 2023, the hospital positioned itself 18th in Ontario, 38th nationally, and third in terms of growth in research investment, with an increase of 24.9%.


National Capital Region's Top Employers, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2024

The annual National Capital Region's Top Employers competition recognizes the top employers providing exceptional workplaces and offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs compared with other organizations in their field. 


Accreditation with Exemplary Standing, 2014, 2018, 2022

Accreditation Canada is an independent organization that assesses 5,700 health institutions and services across Canada. Accreditation is a long process that forms part of a continuous improvement initiative designed to ensure excellence in health care and services. Only 20% of the organizations evaluated obtain "exemplary standing" for exceeding Accreditation Canada’s most rigorous requirements.

 

Green Hospital Scorecard Award - 2022

Montfort has been recognized by The Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care as a 2022 Green Hospital Scorecard Award Winner in Waste Management for showing great strides in waste management, reduction, and conversion.


Clinical Trials Ontario - 2015

Following the qualification of Montfort’s Research Ethics Board by Clinical Trials Ontario, Hôpital Montfort joins a select group of a dozen research ethic boards in Ontario hospitals that follow the highest provincial, national and international standards; qualified boards can sanction clinical trials and health research, for example on new drugs or medical devices. With this designation, Montfort is now a recognised leader for ethical research at the provincial level. 


Healthy Food Program, Bronze level - 2015

Launched in 2013 by the Champlain Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Network,, this distinction recognizes the efforts of hospitals that promote healthy eating among their staff, physicians, visitors, patients and volunteers.


Accreditation of the Simulation Learning Program by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada - 2013

In 2013, the Simulation Learning Program received a five-year accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). This is the highest level of recognition issued by the RCPSC. The RCPSC evaluates simulation learning programs based on their ability to meet standards of excellence, to comply with practices arising from the latest medical research and to ensure patient safety.


Best Practices Spotlight Organization - since 2012

Montfort is designated as a Best Practices Spotlight Organization (BPSO) by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO). This title recognizes that Montfort has implemented best practices that have a positive impact on patient care. In addition, in 2019 RNAO recognised Montfort as an international mentor for international health organizations.
