Research Ethics

The Research Ethics Board (REB) evaluates all research projects conducted within the Hôpital Montfort organization and infrastructures or involving its clientele. The REB is an independent committee. It operates free of any influence or authority by any administrative or decision-making bodies governing the clinical or research activities of Montfort.

Its mandate is to promote research projects that respect and are protective of the dignity of participants, while contributing to the advancement of science. The purpose of an ethics review is to ensure that all research projects carried out in the hospital meet with the standards of ethics recognized by the 2nd edition of the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2). The Montfort REB is meeting all the requirements of Clinical Trials Ontario and has received qualification.
