Montfort’s Family Birthing Centre welcomed the first baby of 2026 for the Ottawa region, 23 minutes after midnight on January 1st. Parents Dixabahen and Mehulkumar Patel welcomed their first child, a baby boy weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

Montfort, Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital, the Institut du Savoir Montfort and the Université de l’Ontario français (UOF) signed a partnership agreement today to offer certificates, training internships, staff and student exchanges, as well as research, innovation and creation projects in
