Montfort, Ontario's Francophone academic hospital, has once again been named one of the National Capital Region's Top Employers by Mediacorp.

The Association consists of up to 100 volunteer members, acting as Montfort's ambassadors, and eligible to become members of the Hospital's Board of Directors. The deadline for applying is February 28, 2025.

“He moved us and made us think,” said Dominic Giroux, President and CEO of Montfort. “By covering the announced closure of the hospital in 1997, Denis did everything he could to promote the cause of the SOS Montfort movement. We owe him a lot.”

This year, the hospital comes in 38th place nationally, and in 8th place provincially in terms of growth of research investment; an increase of 11.7% compared to the previous year.

Patients in need of urgent mental health care now benefit from a dedicated space within Montfort’s Emergency Department; today the hospital inaugurated a new Mental Health Emergency Zone.

Named in recognition of the leadership donation made by its owners, the Singhal family, to the Montfort Foundation’s fundraising campaign for the new Mental Health Emergency Zone project.

The hospital has opened a new Post-Discharge Assessment Clinic at the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub so that certain patients who require medical follow-up after a visit to Emergency can be referred for care within their community.

Marie-Josée Martel and Denise Amyot were elected Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association de l’Hôpital Monfort, the governing body of Ontario’s Francophone Academic Hospital, at the Annual Meeting held yesterday evening.
