Proof of vaccines for visitors of Montfort's patients

Ottawa, September 22, 2021 - Champlain hospitals support Ontario's plan to require proof of vaccination to access businesses. Vaccination against COVID-19 is effective in reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, and therefore protects our health care system from overcrowding. That is why, in the coming weeks, hospitals in the region will begin requiring proof of vaccination for visitors entering the hospital.  It’s an additional layer of protection to keep everyone safe.

At Montfort, this means that starting September 22, screening staff at the main entrance will ask for the vaccination status of people visiting or accompanying people to an appointment.

Beginning October 22, visitors will need to show that they have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days ago.

Exceptions may be made for family caregivers and for compassionate reasons.

People coming to Montfort to receive care or services will not have their vaccination status checked.

For all other visitation restrictions, such as a maximum of designated visitors for hospitalized individuals, restricted visiting hours, triage at entry, mask wearing, hand hygiene, and social distance please visit our page on COVID-19 for the most up-to-date information. We will continue to assess the situation and adjust our visitor policy accordingly.

We encourage anyone aged twelve and over who is not fully vaccinated to make an appointment at one of the many vaccination clinics in  Ontario or Quebec without delay. The COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to end the pandemic and return to normal life.
