Montfort welcomes the first baby of the 2022 in Ottawa

Ottawa, January 1, 2022 – The first baby of 2022 for the Ottawa region, Benjamin, was born 17 minutes after midnight on January 1. The Ottawa parents welcomed their first child, a boy, weighing in at 6 lb 8 oz, at the Family Birthing Centre of Montfort.

The mother, Chantal Casault, gave birth with the help of her nurse, Julie Sabourin and her physician, Dr. Stéphanie Palerme, as well as the support of her partner, Christopher Baskys.

To celebrate the event, a gift basket was handed to the new mother on behalf of Montfort.

We wish all the best to the family, and a very healthy new year!

In these difficult times, we would also like to extend a special thank you to the entire Family Birthing Centre team and all of Montfort staff members who show up every day to ensure our community receives the care it needs.
