Book of condolences in memory of Gisèle Lalonde
Members of the community will have the opportunity to pay a final tribute to Mrs. Gisèle Lalonde, a great lady of the Francophonie and the leading figure in the SOS Montfort cause, who passed away on July 27.
Hôpital Montfort will have a book of condolences available in memory of Ms. Lalonde.
The book will be set up under a large tent next to the Monument de la Francophonie, located in front of Hôpital Montfort, on Saturday, July 30 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Those wishing to sign the book will also be able to use parking lot M, located next to the monument, in front of the hospital. Parking will be free on Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Sanitary measures will be in place: we encourage masking as well as social distancing, and people will be required to use hand sanitizer before signing the book.
The book of condolences will then be given to Mrs. Lalonde's family, who will be able to browse through the memories, anecdotes and words of thanks.
"It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Mrs. Gisèle Lalonde. We offer our most sincere condolences to her loved ones, her entourage, the people who collaborated with her, and all the people for whom she was dear," said Mr. Carl Nappert, chair of the board of trustees of Montfort. "Today, the entire Montfort family is in mourning. Mrs. Lalonde was a great lady and we owe her a lot."
