Montfort tightens masking guidelines
Ottawa, September 13, 2023 - With the arrival of the respiratory virus season, Montfort reviewed its masking guidelines. As of Thursday, September 14, masks must be worn at all times by staff and visitors, in all clinical areas.
This applies, namely, to care units including corridors and patient rooms, the Emergency Department, ambulatory clinics and waiting rooms.
These guidelines are in effect at the hospital and at our satellite sites in Prescott & Russell and Beacon Heights, as well as at the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub.
Wearing a mask is still recommended in public and non-clinical areas, such as main corridors, elevators, and the cafeteria.
We also remind visitors not to come to the hospital if they are not feeling well or have symptoms. Of course, if you need care, don’t hesitate to go to the nearest hospital.
This decision was taken in light of the recent rise in COVID-19 indicators and the importance we place on the safety of our staff and patients, particularly those whose health conditions make them more vulnerable to infection.
We continue to carefully monitor hospital and public health indicators and will adjust accordingly.
