Dr. Doris Grinspun, CEO of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, visits Montfort

Ottawa, May 7, 2024 - As part of National Nursing Week, Hôpital Montfort and the Archipel Ontario Health Team (OHT) had the honor of hosting Dr. Grinspun, Chief Executive Officer of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO).

Since 2009, Montfort has been a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO), a recognition granted by the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO). The implementation of exemplary practices is done in close collaboration with the RNAO and involves researchers and experts who develop tools and indicators to assess the compliance of our practices.

"As an academic hospital, Montfort’s BPSO designation further enhances the importance we place on providing exemplary healthcare. I consider it a privilege to collaborate with our nursing team and partners to deliver quality, patient-centered healthcare services," says Josette Roussel, Associate Vice-President, Patient Care and Chief Nursing Executive.

During her visit to Hôpital Montfort, Dr. Grinspun had the opportunity to tour the Family Birthing Centre, the outpatient clinics and some of the care units. The visit was preceded by presentations on best practices by Natalie Ladouceur, Director of Professional Practice at Montfort, in collaboration with Sharlene Clark, Project Manager for the Ontario Archipel Ontario Health Team.

Staff from Montfort attended the event and had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Grinspun's recommendations and talk with her.

Since Montfort received the BPSO designation, several services at the facility have distinguished themselves in the implementation of exemplary practices, including the Family Birthing Center for promoting breastfeeding and the Mental Health Program for suicide prevention.

This event has fostered valuable collaborations with BPSO partners and promoted opportunities aimed at delivering exemplary healthcare services.

Montfort wishes to thank Dr. Grinspun for her presence at the hospital during National Nursing Week.
