Update on COVID-19 vaccination for Montfort staff members
Ottawa, October 18, 2021 | Updated on November 5, 2021 – At Montfort, the safety of our patients and their loved ones, as well as all of our team members, is always our top priority. When we decided to implement a COVID-19 vaccination mandate in August 2021, we knew it was the right thing to do to keep everyone safe.
As of November 5, 2021, we are pleased to report that 100% of the people who work at Montfort are now compliant with our COVID-19 vaccination policy.
We informed all staff members about our universal vaccination policy on August 24, 2021. Since then, we have provided ongoing support to those who were not yet compliant.
All Montfort staff, physicians, midwives, students, interns, residents and volunteers, as well as future hires, must comply with our universal vaccination policy. A fully vaccinated team complements other protective measures in place at Montfort, such as masking, hand hygiene and physical distancing.
We are very grateful to all the people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine, both among our staff and in the community at large.
Out of a total of 2,348 staff members, medical staff and midwives, 26 people working at Montfort (including 17 part-time or casual employees). As a result, as of November 2, these individuals are no longer employed by Montfort.
Compassion and respect are Montfort values, as is adherence to the highest safety measures. For those few colleagues who decided not to be vaccinated and chose to terminate their employment at Montfort, we are grateful for their contribution to our hospital and wish them well in their future endeavors.
