Suzanne Robichaud, Vice-President of Clinical Services and Chief of Nursing Practice, will be retiring
It is with great emotion that I announce that Suzanne Robichaud will soon be retiring after more than five years as head of clinical services at the Montfort and more than 35 years in healthcare.
Suzanne began her nursing career in the Ottawa area before becoming Manager of Medicine and Emergency at the Montfort from 1991 to 1995. After spending much of her career in her native New Brunswick, she returned to Montfort as Chief Nursing Practice Officer at Montfort in 2016.
Under her leadership, Montfort has greatly expanded its telehealth offering across the province, and Suzanne has raised the profile of our organization by developing numerous partnerships with other organizations in Ontario. She serves on numerous boards and committees, both regionally and provincially. In 2019, she helped the hospital become an international reference for hospitals and healthcare organizations wanting to adopt the best practices developed by the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO).
It is also through her active role in the Secrétariat international des infirmières et infirmiers de l'espace francophone (SIDIIEF) that Ottawa will host the next SIDIIEF world conference in the fall of 2022.
During the darkest hours of the pandemic, Suzanne stayed the course in leading the clinical team, despite challenging circumstances. Most recently, the nursing team was very involved in the launch of the CPOE module for the electronic health record system.
The search for a successor to Suzanne's position will be launched shortly. Suzanne will remain in place for the next few months to support Montfort during this transition period.
Thank you for your collaboration,
Dr. Bernard Leduc
President and Chief Executive Officer, Hôpital Montfort
