Montfort welcomes Ottawa's first baby of 2026

Montfort’s Family Birthing Centre welcomed the first baby of 2026 for the Ottawa region, 23 minutes after midnight on January 1st. Parents Dixabahen and Mehulkumar Patel welcomed their first child, a baby boy weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

A gift basket was given to the family to mark the occasion. We wish them a year filled with love, happiness and, above all, health.

Montfort’s Family Birthing Centre welcomes over 3,000 babies each year.
