Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals: Montfort in the national ranking for a fourth year
Ottawa, November 8, 2018 – Hôpital Montfort, Ontario's Francophone Academic Hospital, is proud to once again be one of Canada's top research hospital in Canada.
Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals List is published by Research InfoSource Inc, a leading information source on research and development in Canada.
The hospital remains in the ranking for a fourth year, ranking 38th in Canada and 17th amongst Ontario hospitals.
This achievement is possible thanks to the ongoing work of the Institut du Savoir Montfort (ISM), Montfort's knowledge institute. This organization coordinates the research projects taking place at Montfort, as well as clinical internships and ongoing professional development.
“We are very proud of our recognition in this select group,” said Dr. Bernard Leduc, President and CEO of Montfort. “Our commitment has led to the development of the only Francophone research hospital in Ontario.”
“These excellent results reflect the coordinated effort of several key players,” added Dr. André Bilodeau, ISM Chief Executive Officer. “Obviously, our researchers and research coordinators have a lot to do with this, but it is a team effort; I salute all colleagues at the knowledge institute as well as Montfort's extended community.”
The ISM has grown to 61 researchers, a 10 percent increase from the previous year, and the hospital boasts five research chairs. Montfort ranks 33th in research intensity among hospitals of the same size in Canada, with $121,900 per researcher.
