Amanda Vandyk, RN PhD
Amanda Vandyk is an assistant professor at the School of Nursing at the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the faculty, she worked as a Registered Nursing in the Psychiatric Emergency Services at the Ottawa Hospital. She conducts research studies using qualitative, quantitative, theoretical, and systematic review methodologies and her research program focuses on frequent presenters to the emergency department, social death in severe mental illness, and mental health and psychiatric nursing education. Dr. Vandyk is committed to improving quality of life for individuals and their families affected by severe and chronic mental health problems and fostering a love of mental health and clinical competence in nursing students.
