Ray-Friel COVID-19 Testing Centre offers online booking

People who need a COVID-19 test and who meet the criteria can book appointments with our COVID-19 Testing Centre online.

This page will allow you to book an appointment at the care clinic managed by Hôpital Montfort and located at the Ray-Friel Recreation Complex. Note that the Heron Road Clinic is closed and that consultations with a physician are no longer available at the Ray-Friel Clinic.

Those who cannot access the Internet can book an appointment by phone at 613-288-5353. Note that there are a limited number of appointments available at this phone number, and it should only be used by people who do not have access to the Internet.

Residents are reminded to adhere to the provincial criteria for testing. People should only seek testing at assessment centres if they:

  • Are showing COVID-19 symptoms; or
  • Have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus, as informed by your public health unit or exposure notification through the COVID Alert app; or
  • Are a resident or work in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified and informed by your local public health unit; or
  • Are eligible for testing as part of a targeted testing initiative directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care.

Testing Centre's locations and opening hours

The COVID-19 Testing Centre – Ray-Friel is located at the Ray Friel Recreation Complex at 1585 Tenth Line Road, in Orléans.

This clinic is managed by Hôpital Montfort and is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

FAQs

How do I book an online appointment?

  1. Go to the online booking website and fill in your information to register
  2. Click on “book appointment” in the top menu
  3. Choose which Clinic to go to: Ray-Friel
  4. Select an appointment slot.
  5. Answer the COVID-19 screening questions. Ensure the information you are providing is correct.
  6. Confirm your appointment. You will get an email confirmation.

When are the new appointment times released?

New appointments are released at midnight on the online booking website. 

How far in advance do you take bookings?

Appointments can be made 4 days in advance for tests. (Note : consultations with a physician will only be available until November 12). 

How long is the appointment?

The average length of time of your appointment will be around an hour, depending on if your visit is scheduled as an individual or as a family. Please ensure you arrive on-time. While we aim to respect your appointment time, there may be some delays. We ask for your patience as these unexpected delays may occur.

What are the criteria to get tested at the Testing Centre?

People should only seek testing at the clinic if they meet one of the criteria:

  • Are showing COVID-19 symptoms; or
  • Have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus, as informed by your public health unit or exposure notification through the COVID Alert app; or
  • Are a resident or work in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified and informed by your local public health unit; or
  • Are eligible for testing as part of a targeted testing initiative directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care.

Where can I get tested before an international trip?

Travellers who need a COVID-19 negative result prior to boarding a plane CANNOT get tested at the Ray-Friel COVID-19 Testing Centre. There are many private clinics now offering this service for a fee.

What if I want to cancel my appointment?

Open the Convey app or the booking website, go to “My appointments” in the menu, click on your appointment, and click cancel.

What if I booked the wrong time or chose the wrong Clinic by accident?

You are able to cancel your appointment on the Convey app, and book another one through it with the correct time or site.

Can I make appointments for my family, or is the appointment just for me?

If you and your family members need to get tested, you are able to make up to six appointment on the same day and under the same name. Children aged 6 months to 15 years inclusively and who have to get tested must be registered under the name of an adult responsible for this child.

What if I am unable to access the internet to book my appointment?

If you do not have internet access, please call 613-288-5353 for assistance. Please note that there is a limited amount of bookings through this phone number.

Can I use this online booking website for all of the COVID-19 sites in Ottawa?

No, this specific website is for the Testing Centre run by Montfort. Appointments for the other COVID-19 testing sites in Ottawa are made through their online booking system.

Please only book one appointment at a single site and cancel your appointment if you plan on no longer attending.
