Professional practice in nursing
Under the leadership of the Head Nurse, the nursing care team includes advanced practice nurses and clinical educators.
Our professional practice team works with members of the clinical departments to create an environment of excellence, trust and mutual support in the fields of healthcare. This team promotes innovation, continuous learning, transfer of knowledge and expertise.
The work performed by our nursing care team is rooted in reasons and principles that in turn support our vision and values.
A Few of Our Projects
Nursing Practice Model
A model of nursing practice has been implemented within our care teams. This model focuses on autonomy, accountability, nurse leadership, decision-making and job satisfaction. It also promotes safe care and optimal continuity of care for patients, and the inclusion of patients and their family members in decision making.
We obtained our designation as a Best Practices Spotlight Organization (BPSO) on May 9, 2012 from the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO). This is a first for a Francophone hospital in Ontario.
The BPSO designation results from the commitment of approximately fifty health care professionals and the work of several inter-disciplinary teams.
