At Montfort, excellence means providing care to our patients using state-of-the-art medical equipment, meeting their needs in a modern and adapted environment, conducting research projects that lead to new health discoveries, enhancing the knowledge of staff through continuing education and training the next generation of health professionals.

Since it is through philanthropy that Montfort achieves excellence, the Montfort Foundation team recently set up a crowdfunding platform—Impact Montfort [3]. The platform is an innovative and fun tool that allows anyone who cares about the well-being of others (and has an Internet connection!) to create their own challenges, form teams, participate in activities and generate donations for Montfort.

To officially launch the platform, we created a first challenge that supports the training of the next generation of physicians while paying tribute to our chief of staff and orthopaedic surgeon—Dr. Guy Moreau.

“For me, 2019 marks the end of an important chapter in my life—a ten-year mandate as chief of staff at Montfort. I am honoured that the Foundation has created, with my involvement, a scholarship fund in my name,” says Dr. Moreau.

“From now on, through the Dr. Guy Moreau Scholarship [4], the Foundation will award $5,000 each year to a medical student who excels in his discipline. In addition to distinguishing himself by his academic performance, the recipient will perpetuate the values I hold most dear by demonstrating humanism, adopting a warm and caring approach towards patients and maintaining respectful relationships with colleagues,” he adds.

Whether it's offering your birthday, organizing a garage sale or yoga session in a park, or forming a team to climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro, each contribution will have a direct and immediate impact on patient care at Montfort.
