The Orléans Health Hub reaches new milestones

Request for proposal sent to contractors and new logo unveiled

OTTAWA, October 11, 2018 – For the five companies who prequalified to build the Orléans Health Hub earlier this year, it is now time to study the architectural plans of the future Hub and prepare their proposals accordingly, as Infrastructure Ontario posted the RFP on its website on October 11.

For Hôpital Montfort and its Hub partners, this is an important milestone, as it demonstrates the new government's commitment to this innovative project that will bring together a range of specialized and community care under one roof.

“The Orléans Health Hub will allow several health care providers to collaborate to provide client- and family-centred care in both official languages,” explains Mélanie Potvin, Project Director for the Hub. “Ultimately, this model aims to provide effective care and make better use of the resources of the health system.”

“With this announcement of the Request for Proposal-RFP from Infrastructure Ontario, we are one step closer to seeing shovels in the ground at the Orléans Health Hub location on Mer Bleue Road,” added Marie-France Lalonde, MPP for Orléans.  “I am thrilled that this project is moving forward as planned so our community can soon profit from fully integrated, patient-centered health services closer to home.”

The name of the company selected to build the Hub is expected to be announced in the summer of 2019.

In addition, the logo that will represent the Orléans Health Hub was recently unveiled, after consultations with the Hub's partners and patient-partners.

csohh_logo_couleur_horizontal.pngIt includes the following visual elements:

  • A butterfly represents the patient, at the heart of the logo as the patient will be at the heart of the Hub, and who is transformed by his or her experience at the Hub. Note that the Hub will feature a butterfly wing-shaped green wall.
  • Seven petals, in honour of the Hub's original partners, represent the way their services intersect to provide an integrated patient experience.
  • In the butterfly’s core, the connection of the wings with the body creates a visual hub.
  • The fact that the butterfly is drawn in one stroke illustrates the Hub's integrated approach and its patient-centred services.
  • The name Orléans is prominently displayed.

A major fundraising campaign, led by the Montfort Hospital Foundation, will soon be launched to support the financing of the Hub.
