Orléans Health Hub: contract awarded to EllisDon

Ottawa, August 6, 2019 – EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare (EllisDon) has signed a fixed-price contract with Hôpital Montfort to build and finance the Orléans Health Hub Project. The contract, which was awarded by Infrastructure Ontario, is valued at $59.7 million.

The selection of EllisDon is the result of an open, fair and competitive procurement process overseen by a third-party fairness advisor.

EllisDon will now mobilize on site and work will begin this summer. At the peak of construction, it is expected approximately 200 workers will be on site. Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2021.

In the coming weeks, an official ceremony will mark the beginning of the construction.

The Orléans Health Hub project involves the construction of a new facility at the corner of Mer-Bleue Road and Brian Coburn Boulevard. The hub will bring together several health and community service partner organizations to respond to client needs within a comprehensive service delivery model of care. Services provided will include:

  • Specialized clinics
  • Medical imaging
  • Services for seniors
  • Mental health and wellness
  • Rehabilitation

Once the Hub is completed, residents of eastern Ottawa, from newborns to seniors, will have access to integrated programs close to home, focused on their needs and offered in both official languages.
