Montfort’s emergency room is more efficient

October 24, 2012 - In only four years, Hôpital Montfort has cut in half the average wait time for its sickest patients.

In 2008, those same patients waited up to 20 hours to be admitted; today the wait time has been cut by 10 hours even as the volume of patients and the acuity of cases continue to rise.

The progresses made are a result of new measures put in place, thanks to the Lean methodology based on waste reduction and continuous improvements.

A recent survey of Ontario hospitals indicated that nine out of 10 patients would recommend Montfort’s emergency department to their family and friends.
