Leading practices recognized at Montfort
Decembre 17, 2013 - Accreditation Canada recognizes two leading practices at Hôpital Montfort.
Hôpital Montfort is proud to announce that two practices – at its Family Birthing Centre and Breast Clinic – have been recognized as leading practices by Accreditation Canada. The first practice is a new mother-baby postpartum teaching tool that aims to improve the transfer of knowledge, standardization of information and to further involve patients and their families in their care. The teaching tool helps patients to direct their learning towards the topics for which they would like additional information in order to facilitate their return home.
The second practice is a new process and follow-up system at the Breast Clinic which allows to improve the quality of care, throughout the continuum of care, by facilitating a partnership with patients and their families. This practice focuses on patients’ psychological well-being, making the access to ambulatory care more efficient and maintaining the waiting period under the standards of the ministry. Hôpital Montfort’s leading practices, as recognized by Accreditation Canada, will be shared with other Health Care Centres throughout the country. They are examples of leadership and high quality services that demonstrate the commitment of the organization to achieving excellence.
A Leading Practice as defined by Accreditation Canada must be:
1) Linked to Accreditation Canada standards
2) Innovative and creative
3) Client or family-centred
5) Able to demonstrate intended results
7) Adaptable by other organizations
“I want to congratulate our teams and recognize their commitment to improve patient care by implementing practices that meet the needs of patients”, said Dr. Bernard Leduc, President and CEO of Hôpital Montfort.
Hôpital Montfort is a Francophone academic healthcare institution that provides quality care in both official languages and works with its partners to improve the
health of communities.
