Hôpital Montfort welcomes the first baby of 2017 in Ottawa

Ottawa, le 1er janvier 2017 – Hôpital Montfort welcomed the first baby of 2017 for the Ottawa region, when a baby girl was born 25 minutes after midnight on January 1.

“The arrival of a child is always a special time. We wish a lot of happiness to the family,” said Dr. Bernard Leduc, President and CEO of Hôpital Montfort.

To celebrate the event, a gift basket was handed to the new mother on behalf of Hôpital Montfort. The New Year’s baby also received a tiny hat, hand-knitted by a member of Hôpital Montfort’s Volunteers Association.

Hôpital Montfort is Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital, offering exemplary person-centred care. The hospital serves over 1.2 million people in Eastern Ontario, in both official languages. In 2014, it earned Accreditation with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, and was designated Best Practices Spotlight Organization by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario.
