Hôpital Montfort supports the movement for a bilingual City of Ottawa
Ottawa, September 27, 2016 – The Board of Trustees of Hôpital Montfort welcomes the news that a majority of Ottawa residents are in favour of a bilingual national capital, as revealed today following a Nanos Research survey.
“The management team of Hôpital Montfort wholeheartedly supports the #BilingualOttawa initiative”, explained Ms. Suzanne Clément, president of the Board of Trustees of Hôpital Montfort. “We invite the municipal government to recognise, as soon as possible, the bilingualism of the national capital.”
The results of the survey, announced on September 27, follows a resolution passed by the University of Ottawa Board of Governors supporting the initiative to officially recognize the bilingual status of Ottawa, on September 26.
Hôpital Montfort is Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital, offering exemplary person-centred care. The hospital serves over 1.2 million people in Eastern Ontario, in both official languages. In 2014, it earned Accreditation with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, and was designated Best Practices Spotlight Organization by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario.
