Hôpital Montfort appoints Suzanne Robichaud to the position of VP Clinical Programs and CNO
OTTAWA, July 4, 2016 – Montfort, Ontario’s Francophone Academic Hospital, announces the appointment of Suzanne Robichaud to the position of Vice-President of Clinical Programs and Chief Nursing Officer. She will assume this position on July 20th.
Ms. Robichaud has 25 years’ experience in clinical management, including five years as Vice-President of Primary Health Care at Vitalité Health Network, in New Brunswick, where she was responsible for six hospitals, three community health centres and seven health centres, and managed a budget of over $100 million.
Ms. Robichaud’s career has evolved within minority Francophone settings, both in New Brunswick and Eastern Ontario. She started her career as a nurse in the Ottawa region before becoming a medical and emergency room manager at Hôpital Montfort from 1991 to 1995. She then worked for 10 years in telehealth and telemedicine for the Régie régionale de la santé Beauséjour, including two years as director of telehealth and research.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Robichaud has given many presentations and trainings, both nationally and internationally, and was a lecturer on emerging health technologies at Université de Moncton. She has also chaired and sat on several boards of directors and associations, and was the recipient of the Award of Merit from the Nurses Association of New Brunswick for her contribution to innovative health programs, leadership and teamwork.
“Ms. Robichaud’s extensive experience in exemplary care, her research—most notably in telehealth and telemedicine—and her practical teaching will greatly contribute to our progress,” stated Dr. Bernard Leduc, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hôpital Montfort. “The leadership she has demonstrated in several major areas will be a great asset in allowing us to achieve our ambitious projects as we embark on our new 2021 strategy.”
Dr. Leduc took the opportunity to thank the outgoing Vice-President of Clinical Programs and Chief Nursing Officer, Lucile Perreault. After 13 years at the head of clinical programs for Hôpital Montfort and over 40 years in the health field, Ms. Perreault retired in January 2016, and remained in the position in the interim to support Montfort during this transition period.
Hôpital Montfort is Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital, offering exemplary person-centred care. The hospital serves over 1.2 million people in Eastern Ontario, in both official languages. In 2014, it earned Accreditation with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, and was designated Best Practices Spotlight Organization by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario.
With its main partners, the University of Ottawa and La Cité college, as well as other post-secondary programs, Montfort is preparing the next generation of Francophone healthcare professionals. In 2015, it joined the ranks of Canada’s top 40 research hospitals through the activities of the Institut de recherche de l’Hôpital Montfort. As part of its 2016-2021 strategy, Montfort is striving to become your hospital of reference for outstanding services, designed with you and for you.
