Help us protect your loved ones against the flu
Ottawa, January 10, 2017 – If you have symptoms of a respiratory illness (including a cough, a runny nose, or a fever) or of a gastro (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), please do not visit patients at the hospital. By staying home, you will help us prevent the spread of infection and protect our patients as they rest and recover.
Even if you don’t have any gastro or flu-like symptoms, please make sure you clean your hands often while visiting patients in the hospital.
To prevent infections, we recommend that no more than one person be with a patient at any given time, and we strongly suggest not to bring a healthy child to the hospital during flu season.
It is not too late to get your flu shot, especially as the vaccine is effective against this year’s flu strain. Ask your health professional or participating pharmacies!
