The first Montfort Hospital President’s Breakfast raised $223,320
Ottawa, April 14, 2016 – Over 165 business community leaders attended the breakfast, held at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre on April 14.
The event marked the very first breakfast of the President and CEO of Montfort, Dr. Bernard Leduc, accompanied by several physicians namely: Dr. Chamoun Chamoun, Cardiologist and Chief of Medicine; Dr. André Olivier, Radiologist and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging; and Dr. François Leduc, Radiologist and Director of Cardiac CT Program.
“Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of hospitalization, disability and death in the national capital region. With the purchase of a CT scanner with a specialized cardiac module, patients will quickly receive a complete diagnosis through less invasive technology,” explains Lawrence Greenspon, distinguished lawyer and Campaign Cabinet Chair of the Montfort Hospital Foundation’s For You, Sweet Heart Fundraising Campaign.
Paralympian Caroline Bisson also attended the breakfast to support the campaign and to share her incredibly inspiring story.
The event was hosted by the Montfort Hospital Foundation. “As the Foundation celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year, it will be the perfect opportunity to launch our For You, Sweet Heart Fundraising Campaign to purchase a CT Scanner with a Specialized Cardiac Module for Montfort. This will allow us to improve the quality of healthcare services offered to our community, while reducing emergency room wait times, avoiding transfers to other institutions and, especially, offering outstanding healthcare and services at Montfort,” explains Christine Sigouin, President and CEO of the Montfort Hospital Foundation.
