Dr. René Ducharme
Dr. René Ducharme was born in Montreal. He studied medicine and specialized in psychiatry at the Université de Montréal. He practiced general adult psychiatry from 1982 to 1998 through an affiliation with the Hôtel-Dieu in St-Jérôme, Quebec.
He moved to the Ottawa-Gatineau area in 1998 to pursue his psychiatric practice at Hôpital Montfort. He was clinical director of the mental health program, and director of undergraduate psychiatric education, Francophone Section, for the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of medicine. He is a cross-appointed professor.
He currently divides his clinical activities between Ottawa’s community based, intensive treatment clinic at 101-388 Montreal Road and the Hôpital Montfort mental health outpatient clinic.
