We are a teaching facility affiliated to the University of Ottawa. You and your child may be seen and examined by one of the students who participate in our Medicine training program. This is a very important part of their training so that they become excellent doctors. The medical trainee you may see can be part of one of the following categories :
- Medical student
- Resident : Medical Doctor in training to become a family physician or a specialist, such as a pediatrician.
All trainees should tell you their name and clearly explain their role. All trainees are supervised by the pediatrician responsible for the care of your child.
You have the right to ask that no student participates in the clinical care of your child. Wherever possible, we will respect your request. You or your child may not want to participate in the separate teaching or clinical examinations. We will respect this request and will not interfere with medical care your child receives.
Thank you for you cooperation and understanding.
